I have had the honor to receive Your Grace's despatch No. 18 of
the
21st of March, forwarding an application from
Mrs
W.G. Cox for her
husband husband to be compelled to pay her two hundred
pounds (£200) a year.
3. Amongst the numberless persons whose offices I have been
compelled to abolish is
Mr Cox. I have done away with the
Magistracy
at at the
Big Bend of the
Columbia. I have offered
Mr Cox a small situation in the Customs Department which he
has not yet accepted, but very certainly it would not enable him
to settle two hundred pounds (£200) a year on his wife.
