I reply to your letter of the 6th Instant forwarding a despatch from the Governor of British Columbia dated 18th Octr respecting the landing of Officers and Men from Her Majesty's ships to suppress disturbances at Cariboo, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you for the information of His Grace the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos that they concur in the terms of the letter proposed to be sent by HisManuscript image Grace to Governor Seymour in answer to his despatch respecting the landing of Officers and Men from H.M. Ships for the purpose of enforcing order.
My Lords have given similar instructions to Rear Admiral Hastings on this subject.
