Sargeaunt to Rogers (Permanent Under-Secretary)
Offices of the Crown Agents for the Colonies
Spring Gardens, London, S.W.
2nd July 1868
Sir,
Referring to my letter of the 21st May last I have the honor to report, for the information of the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, that the Crown Agents for the Colonies have received the following remittances from the Government of British Columbia since that date:
Bill matured 23rd June £1,000
Bill maturing 4th August 1,000
Bill maturing 8th July 1,000
Bill maturing 3rd Septr 1,000
Add amount available on the
  15th June last
3,245
Total £7,245

The liabilities on account of Interest and Sinking Funds on Loans, including the amount which will be required on the 15th Instant, are
Interest £4,200
Sinking Fund 6,425
Total £10,625
By discounting the Bills in hand funds sufficient to meet all Interest up to the 15th Instant will be obtained, leaving £3,045 for Sinking funds less the cost of discount, which, at the present rate, will fortunately be very small.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant
