Sir,
Referring to my letter of the 21st May last I have the honor
to report, for the information of the Duke of Buckingham and
Chandos, that the Crown Agents for the Colonies have received
the following remittances from the Government of British
Columbia since that date:
The| Bill matured 23rd June | £1,000 |
| Bill maturing 4th August | 1,000 |
| Bill maturing 8th July | 1,000 |
| Bill maturing 3rd Septr | 1,000 |
| Add amount available on the 15th June last |
3,245 |
| Total | £7,245 |
The liabilities on account of Interest and Sinking Funds on
Loans, including the amount which will be required on the
15th Instant, are
| Interest | £4,200 |
| Sinking Fund | 6,425 |
| Total | £10,625 |
By discounting the Bills in hand funds sufficient to meet all
Interest up to the 15th Instant will be obtained, leaving
£3,045 for Sinking funds less the cost of discount, which, at
the present rate, will fortunately be very small.
