I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 27th August, and of the parcel accompanying it. The latter contained the Deed, dated 13 Jany, 12 Vict. 1849, granting Vancouver's Island to the Hudson's Bay Company; and the Deed, dated 3 April 1867, by which the Company reconveyed that Island to the Crown.
These two Documents will be placed among the other Colonial Records in this Office, and be subject to the same regulations.
