I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 31st ult, transmitting, by direction of the Duke of Buckingham, with reference to previous correspondence, a copy of a Despatch from the Governor of British Columbia enclosing an Ordinance, No 10 of 1868, "to amend the Shipping Ordinance of 1867" as well as a copy of the OrdinanceofManuscript image of 1867, and in reply to state for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that My Lords have no further observations to offer on the subject and see no reason why Her Majesty should not be advised to sanction both Ordinances.
