The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury have had
before Them your letter of the
16 Inst, inclosing
Despatch from the Governor of
British Columbia, in which
he suggests that the Sinking Fund of the
B. Columbia Loans
should be invested in Colonial Securities, now below par.
My Lords desire me to state, for the information of the
Duke of
Buckingham & Chandos, that before they express any opinion as to
the desireableness of the investment
as as proposed, They would be
glad to have the opinion of the Crown Agents with reference to
the Correspondence which took place in
1865.
