The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury have
had before them your letter of the
29th ulto enclosing
copy of a letter from the Crown Agents relative to the
proposal to invest a portion of the sinking Fund of
British
Columbia Loans in the purchase of the Debentures of the Colony.
I am to state for the information of the Secretary of State that
My Lords will not object to a
discretionary discretionary power being given to
the Crown Agents for the investment, subject to the provisions
of the Ordinance No. 6 of
1866, of the Sinking Funds of these
Loans in the purchase of Debentures of
B. Columbia or of
Ceylon,
New South Wales,
Mauritius,
Victoria, or
Cape of Good Hope or
New Zealand.
