Sir,
The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury have had
before them your letter of 24th ulto enclosing copy of a
despatch from the Governor of British Columbia on the
subject of the loss which the Colony sustains by the
present mode of paying Imperial Pensioners resident in
the Colony—with enclosures.
I am to state, for the information of the Secretary of
State, that under the circumstances represented in the
memorandum of the Acting Secretary of British Columbia
transmitted by Governor Seymour, My Lords will not object
to the Colonial Government drawing Bills on the Paymaster
General half yearly, in advance, for sums not exceeding
£150 each—on account of thesePensioners

case, accounts and vouchers for the expenditure of the
money so drawn must be sent to this Country every half year.
