Poole to Rogers (Permanent Under-Secretary)
66 Carlton St. NW
8 July 1868
Sir,
I have again taken the liberty of calling to enquire the result
of my application for a grant of Land on
Queen Charlotte Island
(20,000 Acres) being anxious to obtain this before Parliament dissolves.
When I had the honor of an interview with you last Monday Week
you suggested I should purchase the land at once. If I cannot
obtain a free grant I am willing to pay for the land on the
condition that
when the Capital is raised that I should do so.
Soliciting your kind consideration and apologizing for my thus
troubling you.

At once.
I do not remember suggesting purchase—if I did it was purchase
from the Col Govt under Col. Regns.
