I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 147 of the 22nd November enclosing Copies of the Correspondence which has passed between you, Colonel Scott and Major Hoyt of the American Army on the subject of themanagementManuscript image management of the Indian Tribes in the territory recently purchased by the United States Government and the transit of Cattle through British Columbia for the use of the United States Garrison in Alaska.
I have already made known to you the views of Her Majesty's Government on both these points, by my despatch of the 28th December No. 101, which you will find are in accordance with the course you haveyourselfManuscript image yourself taken.
