Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No. 55 of the 3rd June and to convey to you Her Majesty's gracious confirmation and allowance of the Ordinance of the Government of British Columbia entitled "No. 5 of 1868 An Ordinance to confirm certainTitlesManuscript image Titles to real property in Vancouver Island."
I have to observe however that the words of the enacting part go somewhat beyond the intention expressed by the recital. The object is to provide that certain grants purporting to be made by persons holding powers of attorney from the Hudson's Bay Co. shall not be held invalid on account of any defect in the holders of the powers of attorney.
The enacting part of the Ordinance however declares that all grants made by these personsshallManuscript image shall be absolutely valid and that no objection (of any sort or kind) shall be taken to them.
