I have the honor to inform you that I have appointed Mr. Philip J. Hankin, R.N. Colonial Secretary of Sierra Leone, to be Colonial Secretary of British Columbia with a Salary of £800 a year.
By another opportunity I shall communicate to you thedateManuscript image date at which Mr. Hankin proposes to leave this Country for the Colony. He will be entitled to the half Salary of the Office from the date of his embarkation.
