With reference to your telegraphic Despatch by which you request me
               not to replace
Mr. Young at present. It is not possible for me now to
interfere. In your Despatch Secret of
June 5th you requested that I
               would not appoint
Mr. Young as you could not give him that confidence
which a Governor should repose in his Colonial Secretary and I
               accordingly replied on the
28th July, that I would endeavour to select
some well qualified person, and I accordingly appointed
Lieutt. Hankin
whom on the strength of the recommendations of yourself and
Admiral
Denman I had appointed Colonial Secretary of
British Honduras where he
had proved himself fully deserving of the character given to him.
