No. 33
9th March 1869
My Lord,
With reference to my despatch No. 136 of 21st December 1868, announcing the opening of the Legislative Session, I have now the honor to add that everythinghasManuscript image has progressed satisfactorily. All the Bills in which I felt an interest have been passed and I hope to be able to prorogue the Council on Saturday the 13th Instant.
2. I am pressing on business in every way, inasmuch as the Spring is well advanced and it is desirable that the Magistrates should return to their respective Districts.

3. I found it indispensable to keep on Mr Young as Acting Colonial Secretary. We should never have got the Financial Bills through with Mr Hankin as Presiding Member.
I have the honor [to be]
My Lord,
Your Grace's most obedient
humble Servant
Frederick Seymour
