My Lord,
I have the honor to forward an authenticated and two plain copies of an Ordinance entitled— An Ordinance to appropriate the sum of $340,105 75/100 out of the General Revenue of the Colony for the contingentserviceManuscript image service of the Year 1870.
2. The Attorney General's Report is enclosed, and the Annual Estimates upon which this Ordinance is founded have already been transmitted to Your Lordship in my Despatch No 9, of the 29th January.

It was intimated to the Governor in the last para: of the desph from Lord Granville of Apl 1/70 No 35 (dft in 2543 B. Columbia herewith) that the Estimates for 1870recd here 3 months since—would be Sanctioned, if they were duly adopted by the Legislve Council. This has now been done, without any attention that I observe.
Sanction the Estimates, as submitted with Governor's 9/2543, & confirm present Ordinance (No 1 of 1870).
