Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit to you herewith for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies an extract from a letter dated Esquimalt 10th June 1870 No 117 from Rear Admiral Farquhar reporting that he had placed HMS Sparrowhawk at the disposal of the Governor of Vancouver to enable him to visit San Francisco.
