With reference to your letter of the
10th ultimo, enclosing an
Account prepared by the Auditor General of
British Columbia, I
beg leave to state, for the information of
Earl Kimberley, that
I have caused to be prepared a statement shewing, on one hand,
the amounts paid by this Department for conveyance of mails to
and from
British Columbiaduring during the year
1869, and, on the
other hand, the amounts paid by the Colonial Government.
The balance shewn by the Statement in question to be due to the
Colonial Government is £580.15.2; and I have caused that amount
to be placed to the credit of the Colony with the Crown Agents
for the Colonies.
