I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 11th instant, transmitting an Ordinance passed by the Legislature of British Columbia in the month of April last, entitled "An Ordinance to create a furtherdutyManuscript image duty of Customs for the Public Service," together with a copy of the Governor's despatch, and the Local Attorney General's thereupon, and in reply I am to request that you will state to Earl Granville that My Lords are of opinion that the Ordinance in question may properly receive Her Majesty's confirmation and allowance.
