Sir,
With reference to my Despatch No. 21 of the 7th Instant I transmit to you herewith the Queen's Warrant for the appointment of Mr. Henry Pering Pellew Crease to be a Puisne Judge for the Colony of British Columbia.
The Crown Agents for the Colonies have been instructed to pay to Mr. Gairdner the Chief Clerk of my Office, the sum of Thirty Shillings, being the price of the Stamp on the enclosed Warrant; and you will call on Mr. Crease to repay this amount into the Colonial Treasury.
