I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 39 of the 23rd April, in regard to the appointment of Phillippo as Attorney General of B. Columbia, and the emoluments to be attached to that office.
In case any difficulties should occur in the Council with referencetoManuscript image to the increase to £800 per annum of the salaries fixed by the Crown Salaries Act, I have to authorize you, as you propose to make Mr. Phillippo's salary up to that amount from the vote which supplied the fees paid to the late Attorney General.
