I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of Despatch No. 70 of the 16 May and to convey to you Her Majesty's gracious confirmation and allowance of the Ordinance passed by the Government of British Columbia No. 5 of the 20th April 1870 entitled "An Ordinance to amendtheManuscript image the Common School Ordinance 1869." At the same time I have to inform you that the Queen has been pleased to confirm and allow the Ordinance No. 21 of 1869 entitled "An Ordinance to establish public Schools throughout the Colony of British Columbia."
