I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 3rd Instant inclosing a transcript, herein returned, of an Act passed by the Legislature of British Columbia entitled "An Act to prevent desertion from Merchant Ships" together with a copy of the report of the localAttorneyManuscript image Attorney General thereupon, and I am to state for the information of the Earl of Kimberley that this Board see no reason why this Act should not be allowed to remain in operation.
