I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit to you, herewith, for the information of the Secretary of State with reference to your letter of the 11th instt the inclosed copy of a Report from the Assistant Solicitor to this Board relative to the steps which are being taken in connection with the defalcations of the late Mr Cochrane, formerly Magistrate's Clerk and Recorder of Mining Claims at Cariboo in British Guiana [British Columbia].
