I have the honortoManuscript image to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 4 of the 22nd January, and I have much pleasure in informing you in reply that I fully recognize the value of your services, and will not fail to note the expression of your desire for further employment when your tenure of the Government of British Columbia shall have ceased, although I cannot bind myself by any promise to give effect to your wishes.
