I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 7 of the 19th February, forwarding the Address to the Queen from the Legislative Council praying for the admission of B.C. to the Dominion of Canada.
I have to inform youthatManuscript image that this address has been laid before the Queen, who has been pleased to receive the same very graciously, and will take it into consideration when a similar address from the Canadian Parliament shall have been received.
I have also to acknowledge the receipt of your previous Despatch No. 3 dated 22nd January, and I have to express to you the approval of the selection of Mr. Trutch to proceed to Ottawa with a copy of this address with a view of coming subsequently to England as the representative of yourGovernmentManuscript image Government during the preparation in this country of the necessary Order in Council for the Union of B.C. with Canada.
