I have received your Despatch No. 56 of the 11 May enclosing a letter addressed to me by Mr. Justice Crease respecting the pension he will be entitled to draw on retiring from the service.
You will inform Mr. Crease that I cannot doubt that the Government of Canada will place the judges of B.C. in as good a position as regards pension, as the judges of the other Provinces who have already entered the Dominion but that Federation is now too far advanced for me to impose upon the Government of Canada any new conditions as to pensions.
