                     Douglas writes to 
Russell to transmit a letter to the “Royal Commissioners of the Patriotic Fund,” and to enclose
                     a bill for the amount raised in 
Victoria, on behalf of said fund.
 
                  
                  The minutes direct that the enclosed letter and contribution to be sent to the “Patriotic
                     fund Commissioners.”
                  
                  The first of the two documents included in the file is a draft reply from 
Labouchere to 
Douglas, which forwards a receipt from the "Commissioners of the Patriotic Fund" for the
                     amount raised at 
Victoria; the second is a draft letter from the Colonial Office to the Secretary of the Patriotic
                     Fund, which forwards 
Douglas’s documents.
