What is meant by the "Trust Fund"?
The term "trust fund" first used by the Governor in his desph
3205, & now byManuscript image the Treasury is obscure, but I have no doubt that it is intended to refer to the money received, under the Authority of the Grant of V.C. Island to the H.B. Co, for the purchase of Land, or for Coals & minerals raised in the Island, which, after a deduction of 10 per cent by way of profit to the Company, is to be applied towards the colonization &c of the Island.
