With reference to your letter of the 15th Ultimo with its enclosure (herewith returned) from the Governor of Vancouver's Island containing a report of the steps he had taken for giving effect to a requisition which he had received from the Commander of Her Majesty's Naval Forces on that Station, I am directed by Lord Panmure to transmit to you, for the information of Secretary Sir William Molesworth, a copy of the answer which has been returned to a reference made to the Department of theLordsManuscript image Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty on this subject.
