Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 17th Instant, requesting to be informed whether any Vessel of War is likely to be despatched to the North Pacific; I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary Labouchere, that Her Majestys Steamer Satellite will proceed thither in the course of a fortnight or three weeks, and is now at Devonport.
