I have the honor to inform you that letters have been received by the Hudson's Bay Company from Governor Douglas, dated Victoria, Vancouver's Island, 27th April 1858, containing the latest information in reference to the Gold fields on Fraser's River.
As Governor Douglas mentions his intention of addressing Her Majesty's Government directly, I do not propose to trouble you with Extracts, unless I receive a communication expressing your desire to be furnished with them, in which case I will forward them without delay.
