I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you herewith, for the information of Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies, an Extract from a Letter, dated the 10th June, from Captain DeCourcy of H.M. Ship Pylades, relative to the state of affairs in Vancouver Island.

It begins, I think, to be a question whether, at all events whilst the Surveying Ships are off this Settlement, the Pylades & Tribune are needed there. Perhaps the Foreign Office could form some sort of opinion how much longer the maritime part of the Boundary Commission will last.
