With reference to
Mr Elliot's Letter of the
6th Instant, stating
that the
Duke of Newcastle is desirous that certain Reports recently
received from the Surveyor General of
Vancouver's Island, affording
useful information respecting the Public Lands of the Colony, should
be published for circulation amongst intending Emigrants in this
country; I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of
HerHer Majesty's
Treasury, to acquaint you, for the information of His Grace, that
They see no objection to authority being given for printing three
hundred Copies of these Reports, and They will instruct the
Comptroller of the Stationery Office to carry out the proposed
arrangement, in communication with the Colonial Land and Emigration
Commissioners.
