I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of Your Grace's despatch No 33 of the 8th September, on the subject of the disturbances that had arisen among the NativeManuscript imageNative Tribes at Victoria, and I am now happy to be able to report to Your Grace that they are quiet and submissive.
2. Many of the Northern Tribes have left Vancouvers Island and returned to their homes. Those who still remain conform to all the regulations established for theirManuscript imagetheir government, and have lately given no cause of complaint.
