I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch of 1st March No 47 upon the subject of the completion of the Fisgard and Race Rock Light houses, and I am much gratified tofindManuscript image find that my proceedings in this matter have met with the concurrence of Her Majesty's Government.
2. I much regret however that circumstances which I could not personally control should oblige me to apply for further pecuniary aid, altho' of a comparatively trifling amount, as represented in my despatch of the 2nd instantNoManuscript image No 35, but your Grace will I trust appreciate the position in which I was placed, and believe there was no other proper course open to me.
3. I transmit herewith for your Grace's information Drawings of the Light houses which will convey some idea of their character and appearance.
