I have to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No. 5 of the 14th of February, enclosing copy of a letter from Mr. Cameron, the Chief Justice of Vancouver Island, in answer to the representations respecting his career previously to his arrival in Vancouver Island which have beenmadeManuscript image made by Mr. E.E. Langford.
Mr. Cameron's letter appears to me very straightforward and satisfactory.
I am not prepared at present to decide whether Mr. Cameron shall retain permanently the Office of Chief Justice of Vancouver Island.
