With reference to my despatch No. 1 of the 24th of January last enclosing an Order of Her Majesty in Council leaving to their operation certain Acts of the Legislature of Vancouver Island including "the VancouverIslandManuscript image Island Road and Harbour Loan Act 1862," I have the honor to transmit to you the accompanying copy of a letter from the Agents General for Crown Colonies and to instruct you to remit to them with the utmost punctuality the funds provided for the payments of the half yearly interest on the Loan andforManuscript image for a sinking fund.
With reference to the current account between the Colony and the Agents General I take this opportunity of referring to you my despatch No 24 of the 11th Instant.
I am in communication with the Board of Treasury as to the mode of investing the sinking fund and the selectionofManuscript image of trustees for that purpose.
