Sir,
I transmit to you herewith a copy of a letter from the Registrar and Secretary of the Order of the Bath, intimating, that the Queen had been pleased to dispense with your personal Investiture with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Civil Division of that Order and to empower you to wear and useManuscript image the Insignia of your dignity in the order and to enjoy all the privileges thereunto belonging in as full and ample manner as if you had been invested by Her Majesty.
The accompanying Packet, it appears, contains H. M's Warrant of dispensation and the Insignia of the division and class of the Order to which you have been admitted; and I have only to add that it has been gratifying to me to have been instrumental in advising the Queen to confer that honor on you.
