I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch marked "Separate" of the 21st of September enclosing a Memorial addressed to me by certain inhabitants of Vancouver Island on the occasion of the approaching termination of your relations with theColonyManuscript image Colony as it's Governor.
I am much gratified by the evidence which the Memorial affords of the esteem in which your Administration of the Government of the Island has been held by the Colonists.
