Adverting to your Despatch No 32 dated 15th August 1864, I have the honor to state that the question of acceptance of the Crown Lands is now under the consideration of the local Legislature, and pending a definite decision on that subject, I would only cause you trouble and create confusionbyManuscript image by entering upon the subject of your Despatch.
I will transmit the required information at the earliest possible period and will for the present only state that I will take care that no charges are made upon the Crown Revenues of the Colony which that fund is not fully adequate to bear.
