Sir,
I am directed by Earl Russell to transmit to you herewith a Copy of a Letter from the Italian Minister at this Court, requesting information as to the fate of G. Vignola, whose family last heard from him at Vancouver's Island in March, 1861; and I am to request that in laying the same before The Duke of Newcastle, you will move His Grace to cause enquiry to be made respecting the individual in question.
