I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 46
of the
14th of July accompanied by the transcript of an Act recently
passed by the Legislative Council and Assembly of
Vancouver Island
"respecting Barristers and Attorneys at Law," from which you had
withheld your assent in consequence of the report of the Colonial
Attorney General.
I am informed by the Law Officers of the Crown that there is no
sufficient reason for not assenting to this Act. You will therefore be
at liberty to assent to it and to send it home in an Authenticated form
for the purpose of being left to its operation.
