With reference to my Despatch No. 45 of the 8th of September last, I transmit to you herewith the Queen's Warrant for the appointment of Mr. Henry Wakeford to be Auditor for the Island of Vancouver in the room of Mr. Robert Ker, promoted.
The Crown Agents for the Colonies have been instructed to pay to Mr. Gordon Gairdner the Chief Clerk of my Office, the sum of Thirty Shillings (s/30/-) being the price of the Stamp on the enclosed Warrant; and you will call on Mr. Henry Wakeford to repay this amount into the Colonial Treasury.
