Sir,
Referring to my Despatch No 50 dated 12th July 1866 by this Mail, I have the honor to transmit extracts from local newspapers containing a report of, and comments upon, proceedings of the Legislative Assembly in reference to my Message dated6thManuscript image 6th July 1866.
Beyond the account contained in these extracts I have no information of the nature of the reply which was thus proposed to be given to my Message after a lapse of seven days from its receipt by the Assembly.
