Kennedy to Carnarvon
December 10h 1866
My Lord
I had the honor to reporting my arrival from Vancouver Island on the 8h inst, and I have now to request Your Lordship will have the kindness to authorise the payment of the usual passage allowance from that colony; a sum which I may be permitted to state will fall far short of covering my expenditure in breaking up my establishment, andManuscript image and conveying my family a distance of nine thousand miles over (I believe) the most expensive Route in the World.
I have the honor to be My Lord
Your very obedient humble Servant
A.E. Kennedy
