Burton, Lieutenant A. G.
According to the files enclosed with this document, Burton was involved with the Daedalus’s attack on Nahwitti villages in 1851, over the murder of three British seamen. Burton reported to Wellesley that he found and destroyed one deserted village, but was unable to reach the second camp due to time, weather, and injury to three of his men, following an attack by some Indigenous men.
