Englishman River
Englishman River flows into the
Strait of Georgia, through the city of Parksville, on the southeast coast of
Vancouver Island. Akrigg & Akgrigg write that it was named
at least as early as 1883,
after an
otherwise forgotten Englishman who drowned
in the river after an attempt to cross it.
1BCGNIS writes that This may or may not be the Rio de Grullas
identified on early Spanish charts.
