<p>Enclosed is <persName ref="prs:lytton_egeb">Lytton</persName> to <persName ref="prs:douglas_j">Douglas</persName> informing him of the shipment.</p>

transmitting copies of two communications from the Treasurer
of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>, asking for a supply of Stationery and
other articles for the use of his Department, I am commanded
by the <orgName ref="org:treasury">Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury</orgName> to
acquaint you, for the information of <persName ref="prs:lytton_egeb">Sir E. Bulwer Lytton</persName>
that they have desired the Comptroller of the Stationery
Office to furnish, for the use of the Department in question,
a supply of Ledgers, Cash, Day, Memoranda Books and other<pb facs="co_60_02/co_60_02_00292v.jpg"/>
articles suitable to a Treasurer's Office, together with a
supply of large-sized folio paper of the most durable kind,
required for the purpose of Registration of Titles to Lands.
</p>
<p>
Their Lordships have informed the Comptroller of the
Stationery Office that the "<name ref="vsl:euphrates" type="vessel">Euphrates</name>" will shortly sail
for <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName> and that it will be desirable that
these articles should be forwarded by that Vessel.
</p>
<p>
As regards the supply of Stamps for the Colony, My
Lords have thought proper to request the Commissioners of
Inland Revenue to advise them as to the arrangements which
it will be most advisable to make and<pb facs="co_60_02/co_60_02_00293r.jpg"/> have transmitted
copies of <persName ref="prs:elliot_tf">M<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">r</hi> Elliot</persName>'s letter and enclosures to the
Commissioners for that purpose.
