<p><persName ref="prs:trevelyan_ce">Trevelyan</persName> informs the <orgName ref="org:colonial_office">Colonial Office</orgName> that <orgName ref="org:treasury">the Treasury</orgName> <q>does not object</q> to <persName ref="prs:gosset_wd">Gosset</persName>’s request for a skeleton gear of a water wheel, the machinery of a circular mill and a lithographic press as long as the cost does not exceed £200.</p>

<p>The minutes inform the Agent General of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>.</p>

<p>Enclosed is a draft from <persName ref="prs:elliot_tf">Elliot</persName> to <persName ref="prs:barnard_e">Barnard</persName> forwarding a copy of <persName ref="prs:gosset_wd">Gosset</persName>’s letter and instructing him to procure and transmit the articles requested.</p>

enclosing a letter from <persName ref="prs:gosset_wd">Cap<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">t</hi> Gosset</persName>, the Colonial Treasurer of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British 
Columbia</placeName>, requesting that a Skeleton Gear of a powerful water wheel and
the Machinery of a circular Mill, and also a Lithographic press may be
sent out to him, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her
Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of <persName ref="prs:lytton_egeb">Sir E.B. Lytton</persName>, that My Lords will not object to these Articles being supplied
for the service of the Expedition to <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>, provided that the
Cost does not exceed £200, and on the<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">understanding</fw><pb facs="co_60_02/co_60_02_00295v.jpg"/> understanding that the amount will
be repaid from Colonial funds.
