I am informed that the Staff Asst Surgeon Asst Surgeon The assistant surgeon was J.B. Seddall, who accompanied the main body of the detachment to British Columbia. First name?? who accompanied the Expedition to British Columbia is to receive the colonial pay of a Subaltern viz £250 per annum. I have the honour therefore to request this same may be likewise included in the list forwarded to you on the 15th instant instant = 15 I.e, Moody to Merivale (Permanent Under-Secretary), 15 September 1858, 9486, CO 60/3, p. 275. for the advance of 120 days pay and that it may be credited into the same at Messrs Cox & Co.
